Photos by Peter Franklin

Snow does not hang around on the South Coast of England (this was gone by lunchtime) so I put my boots on with my business suit, camera gear and shoes in the car and went up the road to All Saints Church in Catherington which is about 300 ft above sea level. There was no snow 7 miles away on the coast. The pictures were taken at about 8:30 am. I should have been on my way to work, but you have to make the most of opportunities

Catherington after Snow by Peter Franklin

A classic winter photograph taken early one morning in the Hampshire village of Catherington by my work colleague Peter Franklin after some recent overnight snow.
The vivid red of the postman's bicycle is acutely contrasted by the blinding white of the snowy path.
